Porsche Mission S Concept Previews a New Supercar Family Above the 911
Unveiled in New York, the mid-engine Mission S points to a permanent range of Porsche supercars rather than another limited-run hypercar.
Porsche unveiled the Mission S concept on 15 October 2026 on a pier in Queens, New York, the same spot where the 550 Spyder was photographed in 1953. The mid-engine car previews a new range of supercars that will sit above the 911 and, crucially, stay in the line-up permanently, unlike limited models such as the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder.
Heritage everywhere
The design borrows from across Porsche’s history. The nose references the 911 GT1, the roofline echoes the 959, and an exposed cooling fan at the rear nods to the legendary 917 racer. It sits lower and wider than any current Porsche, with an active rear wing and 928-inspired wheels.
A cabin with real buttons
- Dashboard inspired by the 356 and 550 Spyder
- Five round instruments with a real analogue rev-counter needle
- No permanent central touchscreen; a retractable MagSafe-compatible phone holder instead
- Instrument graphics customisable via the My Porsche app
What we don’t know
The only confirmed technical detail is the mid-engine layout. Porsche has not said whether production cars will be combustion, hybrid or electric, nor revealed power, performance, price or timing. The platform is designed to support a family of models, which suggests several outputs and body styles over time.
With strong collector demand in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, expect plenty of interest in the region once production versions are confirmed.
