Billboards have started appearing across Dubai and Nissan UAE has opened a register-your-interest page: the all-new Nissan Navara, sold here as the Navara Pro, is on its way. Nissan expects the double-cab pickup in UAE showrooms by the end of 2026, following launches in Mexico and the Philippines.

The Navara Pro is notable for another reason, too. It is the first China-built Nissan to be sold in the Middle East.

Two engines for the region

  • 2.0-litre turbo petrol: 244 hp and 400 Nm, eight-speed automatic only
  • 2.3-litre turbodiesel: 141 hp and 400 Nm, six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic

Both engines deliver the same torque, but the petrol has a 103 hp advantage, which should make highway overtaking on routes such as the E11 noticeably easier. The plug-in hybrid version offered in other markets will not be sold in the Middle East at launch.

Still to be confirmed

UAE pricing, the trim structure, towing and payload figures, and the exact showroom date have not yet been announced. Performance figures such as 0-100 km/h and top speed are also still under wraps.

The competition

The Navara Pro enters a segment dominated by the Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. The new ninth-generation Hilux’s 2.8-litre turbodiesel produces 201 hp and 500 Nm, so Nissan’s diesel gives away torque, while its petrol engine looks set to be one of the stronger options in the class.
