One of the UAE’s longest-running car partnerships has come to an end. Al Tayer Motors became Kia’s exclusive importer-distributor in the UAE, effective 1 September 2026, with Premier Motors representing the brand in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Juma Al Majid Group had represented Kia since 1988.

Who covers where

  • Al Tayer Motors: Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah
  • Premier Motors: Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

Al Tayer has opened a new Sharjah site of more than 8,800 sq ft, including a service centre. Kia says existing warranties, service agreements and after-sales support continue unchanged.

Other moves to know

  • Freelander: Al Tayer Motors (Dubai and Northern Emirates) and Premier Motors (Abu Dhabi)
  • Li Auto: Al Fahim Motors, under a partnership formed in April 2026
  • SOUEAST: Elite Group Holding, which also works with Jetour UAE
  • Zeekr: AW Rostamani Group, with a redesigned Sheikh Zayed Road flagship
  • MG: Inter Emirates Motors, which has sold 50,000 vehicles since 2021

If you own a car from a brand that has changed hands, it is worth confirming where your next service should be booked and that your warranty records have transferred.
