Al-Futtaim Lexus has launched the ES500e, the first fully electric version of the long-running ES, priced at AED 275,000 including VAT in a single Platinum AWD specification. It was revealed alongside the new ES350h hybrid.

Electric specs

  • Two electric motors with DIRECT4 all-wheel drive
  • 338 hp combined
  • 74.6 kWh battery and 465 km of official range
  • 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds
  • 22 kW AC charging with a CCS2 port

Bigger than before

The ninth-generation ES is 5,140 mm long, 165 mm longer than its predecessor, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase that has grown by 80 mm, a meaningful gain in rear legroom.

Hybrid or electric?

The ES350h hybrid starts from AED 230,000, with the ES350h Platinum AWD at AED 255,000. That makes the electric car about AED 20,000 more than its hybrid equivalent, but with almost 100 hp more and a much quicker 0-100 km/h time (5.5 seconds versus 7.7). With October petrol prices at up to AED 4.40 a litre, running costs could close that gap for high-mileage drivers.

Standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, soft-close doors, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson system, head-up display and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0.
